Types
Syntypes
Koch (1877a)
provides the following locations for the syntypes: Peak Downs [34°55'S,
138°36'E, Queensland], Bowen [20°00’S, 148°14’E, Queensland], Rockhampton
[23°22'S, 150°30'E, Queensland], Port McKay [21°10'S, 149°14'E, Queensland],
Sydney [33°53’S, 151°13’E, New South Wales].
- 1 male (British Museum of
Natural History 1919.9.18.361-362) (McKay,
1985). I was not able to locate this specimen in the collection of the
BMNH in November 2001 (pers. observation).
- 1 male Sydney [33°53’S,
151°13’E, New South Wales], 1 female Port McKay [21°10'S, 149°14'E,
Queensland], Museum Godeffroy No. 14575 (Zoologisches Staatsinstitut und
Zoologisches Museum, Universität Hamburg, Rack (1961)-catalogue 456). Rack (1961) list ‘3 syntypes’
but only two specimens are present (pers. observation).
- 1 female, New South Wales [no
exact location] Museum Godeffroy (Museum für Naturkunde, Zentralinstitut
der Humboldt Universität, Berlin: ZMB: 3470) (pers. observation) (Moritz, 1992).
- 1 female (epigyne missing), 2
immature females, Rockhampton [23°22'S, 150°30'E, Queensland] (Museum für
Naturkunde, Zentralinstitut der Humboldt Universität, Berlin: ZMB: 3466).
Labelled ‘Lycosa laevisternis’, which is most likely erroneous as L.
Koch never described a species with this name (pers. observation).
- 1 male, Bowen [20°00’S,
148°14’E, Queensland] (British Museum of Natural History 1890.7.1.2372-73)

likely erroneous as L. Koch never described a species with this name
(pers. observation).
- "Neu Holland" [no
exact location] ('Königliches Naturalienkabinett Stuttgart') (Koch 1877a).
Distribution
