Alopecosa madigani (Hickman, 1944)


Female venter and genitalia, and male pedipalp of  Alopecosa madigani [as illustrated in Hickman (1944)].


NB: Alopecosa madigani may be a junior synonym of Alopecosa leonhardii (Strand, 1913), pending an examination of the female types of this species.

Types

Syntypes:

The Australian Museum holds all specimens mentioned by Hickman (1944). Only two of these, a male (KS49706) and a female (KS77585) were labeled ‘type’ by Hickman (1944).

Identification

Female total length 16 mm. Carapace yellowish brown with a wide longitudinal band of black hairs on each side. Abdomen brown with a faint pattern of transvers bars. Male total length 10.8 mm; colouration resembles female (Hickman, 1944).

Distribution

Known from type localities only (South Australia, Northern Territory).
