Hogna bellatrix (L. Koch, 1865)

N.B. Koch himself (1877a, p. 957) synonymised this species with Lycosa godeffroyi. However, (Platnick, 2001) lists Hogna bellatrix, as C. F. Roewer did apparently not accept this synonymisation .

Types

Holotype:

• Female, Sydney [33°53’S, 151°13’E, New South Wales] (British Museum of Natural History, London, 1919.9.18.1187) (possibly, labelled 'Tarentula vecatrix', could be 'bellatrix', McKay, 1985).

Distribution

Known only from type locality, Sydney (New South Wales).
