Holotype:

• Female, Day Dawn ('Station 76') [27°27’S, 117°51’E, Western Australia] (Museum für Naturkunde, Zentralinstitut der Humboldt Universität, Berlin: ZMB 11046) (Moritz, 1992).
• Holotype of Tarentula laeta protruda, Central Australia [no exact location] (Senckenberg Museum Frankfurt, SMF) (McKay, 1985b).

Idenification

Simon's (1909d) species descriptions are in Latin and rather schematic. A large species (total length female 16 mm).

Distribution

Known from type localities only, Day Dawn (Western Australia), and 'Central Australia'.
