Types

Holotype:

Identification

Male total length 10.7 mm. Carapace dark brown with a light brown patch surrounding the thoracic grove. Abdomen light brown with dark brown markings (Hickman, 1944).

Female (Figs. 70, 71, 74, 75) and male (Fig. 80) of Lycosa hickmani from Indonesia (then New Guinea) [as illustrated in Chrysanthus(1967a)].

Distribution

In Australia known from type locality only, Charlotte Waters (Northern Territory). Chrysanthus (1967a) reported this species from Merauke (Indonesia), however, he never examined the type species and relied on Hickman's (1944) original description. It must remain doubtful if the Indonesian specimens are conspecific with L. hickmani.
