Systematics and Taxonomy

Venatrix mckayi Framenau and Vink, 2001: 938-939, Figs 10A-F, 11.

Types

Holotype:

• Male, Avon River State Forest, ‘Dermodys Camp’, [37°48’S, 146°55’E, Victoria], 6 December 1999, secondary dry sclerophyll forest, in leaf litter, V.W. Framenau (Australian Museum, AM KS58405).

Paratypes

• 1 female, 1 male, 1 juvenile, same data as holotype (Australian Museum, AM KS58406).

Distribution

New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria [map as illustrated in Framenau and Vink (2001)].

Biological Reference

Forest species, mainly found in the leaf litter of eucalypt forests (Framenau and Vink, 2001).
