McKay (1979d)
redescribed Lycosa marcentior from females he found close to the type locality of
the immature specimen he examined, Dongara (Western Australia). However, he did not
examine the adult syntype female from Boyanup (which he stated as 'whereabouts
unknown') to confirm their identity. Therefore, the species illustrated below is not L. marcentior, but an undescribed species.
